A 44-year family banquet hall, told in one clear promise.

Maravela's has an in-house kitchen that has never outsourced a dish, three private rooms, and decades of guests who remember the staff by name. The old site buried all of it. We rebuilt the whole thing around one promise: everything your event needs, one price, no surprises.

The live site, top to bottom. Built mobile-first and fully owned by the client.

A strong business that read as ordinary online.

Maravela’s has been family owned since 1982: an in-house kitchen that has never outsourced a dish, the longest-running New Year’s Eve gala in Lake County, and a bilingual family team with a thriving quinceaƱera clientele. The raw material was excellent. The website was burying it.

The old site had grown to more than twenty-five pages, with duplicate banquet and New Year’s pages, a live test page, and seasonal promos from years past still showing as current. The mobile menu used hover dropdowns that do not work on a phone, the menus and prices were locked inside PDFs and images that search engines cannot read, and there was no Spanish content at all. The tagline could have belonged to any venue anywhere.

Half the pages, ten times the clarity.

We rebuilt the site from a strategy layer up. We cut the page count roughly in half so every navigation item leads somewhere real, gave it a clean structure, and led with one promise on every page: everything your event needs, one price, no surprises.

The menus became real, readable, printable web pages instead of PDFs, more than twenty of them. We added a dedicated Spanish section on the pages that matter most, an events section built to update by year instead of going stale, and a homepage comparison that makes the all-inclusive price easy to see at a glance.

Decide it on purpose, and make it true.

Before designing a page, we wrote the business down: brand, voice, positioning, audience, and verified facts, with a decision log so every call had a reason behind it. We locked the choices that matter, like leading with the all-inclusive promise, crediting the brand to the family as a whole, and translating only the highest-intent pages rather than the entire site.

We fixed the facts that had drifted: conflicting hours, a dead social link, an outdated tax rate, a singular word that should have been plural. One verified source of truth, carried everywhere. The 44-year history and family ownership are exactly the trust signals search engines reward, so we surfaced them instead of inventing new ones.

Faster, accessible, bilingual, and built to stay current.

We replaced the page builder with a custom WordPress block theme: semantic, fast, and accessible to WCAG AA, which also makes the site readable to Google and to the AI assistants that now answer questions like “find me a Lake County banquet hall with all-inclusive pricing.” Schema for the venue, its events, and the FAQs is generated in code, not guessed by a plugin.

The result renders the real Maravela’s in a form customers, search engines, and AI can all read. Because it rests on a documented strategy and a reusable playbook, it is built to stay current instead of drifting back into the sprawl it replaced.
